Happy Thursday, friends!
Last night, we had our first Vanderpump Rules Watch Party at our apartment. Granted, it took us 2 1/2 hours to watch the episode and Watch What Happens because we kept pausing it and derailing the train, but it was so much fun and I encourage everyone to get their watch party on.
In honor of our First Watch Party, I decided to honor the days of Vanderpump past by making GOAT CHEESE BALLS. And, being me, we made it with three different types of goat cheese.
It was SO easy, and honestly, mind-blowingly delicious. Literally, at the end of the night I was scraping dishes and scraped an uneaten ball into the garbage and my friend literally screamed out the window to Dan and her husband to tell them of my crime. Friends, make these and be the hero of your next event.
So, let’s get into it!
yes, the photo is sideways. So am I so it’s on brand.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
8 oz of goat cheese, in our case, I got 4 oz of different types of goat cheese because I’m MOST EXTRA but regular goat cheese is perfect (this makes 12 balls)
(1) Egg
1/2 cup of flour
1/2 cup of panko
honey
An Air fryer
fig jam (not necessary; i made a fig and honey dipping sauce just by mixing the two together, but you can make any type of dipping sauce, or just eat it without)
PUT IT ALL TOGETHER
First things first- whenever we’re frying something, it needs to be solid. So, make your balls, 12 total, and pop em in the freezer for 20 minutes.
You will need 3 bowls: 1 for the flour, 1 for the egg,, 1 for the panko: in that order.
Once the goat cheese balls are solid drizzle them with honey and bring them to your assembly line to start coating! Cover the ball with flour, then your egg, then your panko and put it to the side and repeat until all your balls are coated.
Once all your balls are coated, fire up your air fryer to 400 degrees for 5 minutes. Spray a little olive or avocado oil in your basket, pop your balls in the basket, turn when the air fryer says so, and serve warm.
I would suggest a sweet dipping sauce since goat cheese is sort of weird- I used fig jam, honey, date syrup and salt flakes and just mixed it together until the fig was smooth.
It’s that easy!
I’ll be back tomorrow for our paid subsribers for our first Friday Finds… it will evolve but for now, lets roll with it.
Tomorrow, I’m partnering with a bunch of women to empower women for a fundraiser. It’s exciting, and I always get nervous but it’s a good nervous, ya know?
I’m also working on some exclusive Salt with Soul Merch :) The mind map that is this universe is vast and expanding, friends. As always, I’d love for you to check out my little etsy shop, which continues to have new drops weekly.
