Happy Monday, friends.
This morning on our walk, the dew chilled our pup’s paws, and we saw our breath for the first time this fall. The geese huddled in the ponds, finding warmth among one another, and Hampton’s grass had been trimmed to its’ dormant winter state. The sun rose later, making my early writing time darker than usual.
Another season is on the horizon, and change is inevitable once again.
If there’s one constant thought in life, it’s this: we are always changing.
It might not be as visible as the seasons, but on a molecular level, our bodies, our minds, our thoughts, and our beliefs are in a constant state of shifting and evolving forward.
There’s a resilience that you have to adapt as you get older. The more we experience, both good and bad, the more we see how important it is to stay true to who we are. We begin to understand that we have to make a choice as a person to stand by our foundations, values, and core, even if it isn’t what others expect of us.
With that resilience, comes the understanding that if we want to achieve certain things in our lives, we have to change. Just like a tree sheds dead branches, or a snake sheds skin, we are meant to move past the thoughts, patterns, and habits that once held us back. The more we continue forward, the more we see that our old habits aren’t meant for us anymore. Like a worn-down pair of boots, they’re not comfortable anymore. You’re past that period in your life, now.
At some point, we are challenged to look at the situations around us and say to ourselves “I can handle this.”
The recipe to move forward in life is simple:
Optimism + Resilience - Bad Habits = Manifesting Dream life
We’re never going to get things 100% each time, but we have to trust that whatever situation is presented, it can be handled.
The old way you used to talk to yourself, shouldn’t work anymore. You know the lies your subconscious fed you aren’t real, anymore.
You’re supposed to believe in your power, even when you’re hurt. You’re meant to be relentless with your optimism.
You’re supposed to envision your future so intentionally, that you can feel the moment you accomplish your dream.
You’re supposed to outweigh your anxiety with all the positives around you.
Your new life will not fit back into the skin you shed to get here.
Don’t sell your dreams to your old habits, anymore.
Every choice you have made has led you here: on the precipice of your dreams. Don’t let your old thoughts, habits, and patterns bring you away.
Speaking of dreams, I am 15% through NanoWriMo word-wise! There are days when it’s easier than others, and I’m proud that I just keep writing along. While I have self-published before, it is my ultimate dream to have a book deal and do a tour, and while I know I’m far from the finish line, at least I got over my fear of stepping up to the starting line. Truthfully, I have this space to thank for that. Showing up to the Salt, with Soul World has helped me show up in other worlds I only fantasized about, so thank you.
As I say to Dan all the time: we don’t know when this will all pop off, but I do know that as long as I keep chipping away at it, it will pop off. I started at 0 subscribers, and now we’re at 200. The long game to this dream life, right?
I’ll be back Thursday with a little bit of Salt. I made my first soup last week, and I’m excited to share!
